Richard A.S. Thomas

Following the completion of my studies at the London College of Communication, University of the Arts, London, I have been working as a Spark and Gaffer enabling me to home my skills as a Cinematographer. As a Cinematographer I have filmed various short film and music videos, such as Karen Davies Magic carpet ride (leading female in Scorpion King 2), IMDb page: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1104123/ and you can have a look at the music video on my links page. I've filmed two feature films this year and I'm in preproduction for further four next year, three of which are being filmed overseas in Nigeria, France and Italy. My Cinematographer work has been greatly enhance by the Connect scheme offered by my University which provides mentors in the creative arts industry to former students. This led me to be paired up with one of UK leading Directors of Photography, Balazs Bolygo HSC, who filmed Life on Mars, Ashes to Ashes and It All Gone Petetong and has been a great inspiration to my work as a Cinematographer. Balazs has inspired me and passed on his knowledge of the craft and art of Cinematography and given me great access to leading people in the film industry and their knowledge, some of whom have become my mentors too such as Micky Reeves who is one of the UK leading Gaffers and has worked on various feature films and BBC dramas.
